A Uniquely Innovative Approach to Healthcare

Med Center Health is a not-for-profit health system with a mission to care for people and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. Our integrated healthcare system includes:

  • Hospitals in Bowling Green, Albany, Caverna (Horse Cave), Franklin and Scottsville, as well as Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital, a long-term acute care hospital.
  • A combined 454 acute care beds and 110 extended care beds.
  • 500+ physicians and nurse practitioners in more than 50 specialties.
  • A wide range of services, including orthopaedics, physical therapy, cancer care, women’s health and newborn care, home care, primary care and more.
  • More than 3,800 employees and 130 employed providers.

In FY 2020, Med Center Health provided $116.6 million in community benefit. Deeply rooted in the communities we serve, Med Center Health offers more access to top-quality healthcare than any other provider in Southcentral Kentucky. A wide footprint, combined with our commitment to proactively invest in the resources our communities need, helps people heal closer to home.

Our flagship hospital, The Medical Center at Bowling Green, is a hub of forward thinking and innovation. And no matter where they practice, all of our physicians are driven to achieve the highest possible accreditations, equipping them to employ the latest, innovative approaches to healthcare.

For instance, Med Center Health was the first facility in the region to use the precision of MAKO™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery, which creates a 3-D model of hip and knee replacement procedures. When it comes to cardiac care, The Medical Center’s heart surgery quality scores far surpass national averages, including an average patient stay of just four days.

Med Center Health also maintains strong partnerships with the area’s finest academic institutions, such as Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky. And we are the only provider in the region that partners with UK HealthCare. This unique relationship increases opportunities for research and technology while gaining access to the latest in evidence-based medicine.

In addition, the University of Kentucky College of Medicine – Bowling Green Campus, the first 4-year regional medical school in Kentucky, is located on the campus of The Medical Center at Bowling Green. As a teaching hospital, The Medical Center is committed to constantly raising the bar to provide better healthcare for residents of Southcentral Kentucky.

Quality Close to Home

Med Center Health’s six hospitals are located in Albany, Bowling Green, Horse Cave, Franklin, and Scottsville. More than 30 clinics serve the area. This wide footprint, combined with our commitment to proactively invest in the resources our communities need, helps people heal closer to home. No matter where you live in Southcentral Kentucky, the highest quality care is within your reach.

Our commitment to the communities we serve goes beyond improving the health of our patients. As a not-for-profit institution, the monetary benefits we generate far outweigh the taxes we would pay if we were in business to make money. The intangible benefits are even more significant – all part of our mission to improve the health and wellness of the patients and communities we serve.
