The Medical Center at Bowling Green and The Medical Center at Albany recertified as SANE Ready Hospitals
The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has recertified The Medical Center at Bowling Green and The Medical Center at Albany as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)-ready hospitals. The two hospitals maintain a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner on call at all times. The Medical Center at Bowling Green and The Medical Center at Albany have been certified as SANE-ready hospitals since 2024.
“No matter when a patient presents after a sexual assault, our nurses are available to provide quality, compassionate, trauma-informed and patient-centered care to the residents of Southcentral Kentucky,” said Melissa Gilpin, SANE Program Administrator.
The Medical Center at Bowling Green is the only hospital in the 10-county Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) to receive this certification. It is one of only 25 hospitals across the state. The Medical Center at Albany is the only SANE Ready hospital in the Lake Cumberland Area Development District (LCADD). Med Center Health now has 23 SANE nurses company wide.

Med Center Health has provided SANE Nurse training to nurses at every hospital in the BRADD area.
