The Medical Center Adds the Latest in MRI Technology
On February 29, The Medical Center received two new MRI scanners – the Philips Ingenia 3.0T and Ingenia 1.5T. A crane lifted the scanners, and a work crew carefully guided the almost 5-ton machines into their new homes at Diagnostic Imaging. Both scanners will reside in a totally refurbished MRI suite and are scheduled to be up and running as soon as March 14.
The Medical Center is first in the region to offer the revolutionary scanning capabilities of the Ingenia 3.0T, the first-ever digital broadband MR scanner. Exams will take less time, image resolution will be greatly improved, and wider openings in both the 3.0T and 1.5T will reduce patient claustrophobia.
