Three Transformational Gifts Invest in the Future of Health Care
This summer, the Med Center Health Foundation received three extraordinary gifts totaling
nearly $7 million. These generous investments will expand neonatal and pediatric care,
strengthen medical education and help recruit and retain exceptional physicians in our
community.
Kosair for Kids awarded the Foundation a $2.5 million grant to support the Med Center Health
NICU/Womb to World Program. This funding will enhance Med Center Health’s comprehensive
neonatal care and help ensure that babies and their families receive vital support throughout
pregnancy, delivery and the earliest stages of life.
The former Robert and Mary Tincher Charitable Foundation awarded $4.2 million to the
Robert and Mary Tincher Guardian Angel Children’s Services Program Endowment. The program
ensures that children receive essential medical and dental care, regardless of their families’
ability to pay. Through this remarkable gift, the Tinchers are remembered for improving
children’s health and well-being while creating a lasting legacy of care for the community’s
youngest members.
The former Shelley R. & Alice S. Norris Scholarship Fund contributed $271,329.53 to establish
the Shelley R. & Alice S. Norris Medical Education Scholarship Fund Endowment. The fund will
provide loan-forgiveness assistance to graduates of the University of Kentucky College of
Medicine–Bowling Green Campus who commit to practicing at a Med Center Health facility. It
joins two other funds created to recruit and retain high-quality physicians in our community.
The Med Center Health Foundation is deeply grateful for these generous gifts and the
meaningful, lasting difference they will make for patients, families and communities across the
region.
