Honoring Mike Murphy: Carrying His Legacy Forward

Mike Murphy believed strong communities are built by people who step forward, serve others,
and turn compassion into action.

Now, a group of Mike’s friends is coming together to do just that.

In his memory, they have set a goal to raise $1 million to support the future of the Hospitality
House and name this special place in Mike’s honor. Thanks to generous early supporters, they
are already one-third of the way to their goal.

For those who knew Mike, the Hospitality House is a fitting tribute to his life and legacy. As a
community leader and member of the Med Center Health Foundation Board, Mike was an early
champion of the Hospitality House. He understood that it could be much more than a place to
stay. It could provide comfort, hope, and a sense of home for families during some of life’s most
difficult moments.

For 15 years, the Hospitality House has done exactly that, providing free lodging for thousands
of guests who need to remain close to loved ones receiving hospital care or who are traveling to
Bowling Green for cancer treatment.

Parents have stayed close to newborns in Med Center Health’s Level III NICU. Cancer patients
have found a place to rest between treatments. Families facing unexpected hospital stays have
been able to remain near someone they love without the added expense of a hotel or burden of
a long commute.

Investing in the Next 15 Years and Beyond

After 15 years of service, the Hospitality House is ready for its next chapter.

Funds raised through the $1 million campaign will help add guest rooms, renovate and refresh
guest rooms, common areas, accessibility features, furnishings, and amenities. The campaign
will also provide additional funds to the Hospitality House operations endowment and resources for future improvements, helping the Hospitality House continue to
evolve as Med Center Health and the communities it serves grow.

This is more than a renovation. It is an investment in the families who will need the Hospitality
House for years to come.

Naming the Hospitality House in Mike’s honor will be a lasting tribute to his commitment to
serving others. But his greatest legacy will be found in the families who continue to find comfort
within its walls.

One-Third of the Way. Help Us Reach $1 Million.

Mike’s friends have started something special, and now they are inviting the community to be
part of it.

Every gift brings us closer to the $1 million goal. Every gift helps honor Mike. And every gift
helps ensure the Hospitality House will continue to be a home away from home when families
need it most.

Join us in carrying Mike’s legacy forward and helping the Hospitality House remain a place of
comfort, compassion, and hope for generations to come.
