“I’ve worked at Med Center for about 10 years. I am Clinical Outcomes Specialist for the cardiac service line. I was one of the first people in our entire organization to get the vaccine and I, like, couldn’t get there fast enough. I think it’s really important for us as healthcare workers to support the science that we’re seeing — and we know that these vaccines, while they don’t always prevent infection, are really going to prevent severe illness. We’re seeing that right now in our hospital population are lots of the patients who are being admitted are unvaccinated, and this virus is mutating and becoming worse. So, as a healthcare provider, I want to set the example for the community; and I want to be able to protect some of the patients we might have that are unable to be vaccinated, children that are unable to be vaccinated. So, I think that, for me, that is one of the most important reasons why I think everyone should take the vaccine if they’re able.”
