The Medical Center at Bowling Green is a 373-bed facility that has been providing high-quality healthcare services to the area since 1926. What began as City Hospital is now a broad-ranging healthcare company that serves the healthcare needs and improves the quality of life for communities throughout Southcentral Kentucky.
In 1984, Commonwealth Health Corporation (CHC) was formed as a not-for-profit holding company for The Medical Center at Bowling Green and other health-related businesses. Today, CHC is known as Med Center Health and is one of the largest employers in Southcentral Kentucky with more than 3,500 employees.

Monoclonal antibody infusions for COVID-19 patients is offered at the Specialty Infusion Center in The Medical Center at Bowling Green . If you have a doctor’s order for monoclonal antibody infusion and are scheduled for infusion therapy, please park in the Medical Arts Building parking lot off of High Street (see map below). The Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center is the most renowned cancer treatment facility in Southcentral Kentucky. State-of-the-art equipment, experience, comfortable surroundings, and complete patient and family services make us a leader in cancer care in this region.
Radiation Oncology, one of several components of the Cancer Center, has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation from the American College of Radiology. The accreditation is an acknowledgement of our achievement of high practice standards.

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation The Medical Center at Bowling Green
Med Center Health offers Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation so residents of Southcentral Kentucky can gain greater independence in activities of daily living.
Cardiac Rehabilitation can help people who have suffered a heart attack or been diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease regain the fullness of their lives. Cardiac Rehabilitation is available to patients who are referred by a physician and whose medical records have been reviewed by our rehabilitation staff. Cardiac Rehabilitation often begins in the hospital after a heart attack, heart surgery or other heart procedure. Rehabilitation continues in our outpatient program after the patient is discharged from the hospital.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is designed for individuals who are increasingly limited in their everyday activities due to lung disease and disorders including:
Emphysema
Chronic bronchitis
Bronchiolitis
Asthma
Pulmonary fibrosis

The Medical Center at Bowling Green provides a hospital chaplain to minister to the spiritual needs of patients, their families, and hospital staff. The chaplain visits with each new patient and follows up with patients and families who may need additional spiritual support and care. The chaplain is available to provide spiritual guidance, prayer, counseling and literature to aid anyone in need. The chaplain is also available to contact denominational leaders within the community for patient and family support.

The Medical Center at Bowling Green is accredited by the American College of Radiology and The Joint Commission. Radiologists are board certified and fellowship-trained in their respective specialties.

We will assess the emergency and begin treatment accurately and quickly in all of our facilities throughout Southcentral Kentucky. And we’re prepared for the many different kinds of emergencies that come up every day.
The Medical Center at Bowling Green Emergency Department is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and follows stringent protocols to ensure patients receive efficient and accurate treatment during the early stages of a heart attack. Using guidelines from both the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, we look for and treat the early signs of heart attack and stroke in patients. For this, The Medical Center at Bowling Green has also been awarded Primary Stroke Center Certification by The Joint Commission.

The Medical Center at Bowling Green NICU
The Medical Center at Bowling Green NICU treats a variety of conditions in newborns including prematurity (usually born before 37 weeks), infants with infections, and heart or respiratory problems. Our high-tech facilities are equipped with the latest instruments and dedicated staff to give the best care close to home.
The Medical Center has highly-trained staff specializing in neonatal medicine, including neonatologists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, breastfeeding or lactation consultants, occupational and speech therapists, laboratory and radiology technicians and others. We also have medical social workers/discharge planners who work with parents after discharge of newborns to coordinate care and equipment if needed.
The Medical Center at Bowling Green NICU is a member of Vermont Oxford Network (VON), a worldwide community dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and value of care for newborn infants and families. VON, a nonprofit collaboration, facilitates the world’s largest databases of practices and outcomes for neonatal care and supports data-driven quality improvement, education, and research.
