High Street Tower Opens a New Era of Care

On August 15, Med Center Health celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new High Street Tower at
The Medical Center at Bowling Green. More than 600 guests toured the facility before joining
Med Center Health’s 100th Birthday Bash.

Thank you to all of those who made this milestone possible and those who joined
us in celebrating. High Street Tower officially opened for patient care on August 25.

Designed with women, babies, and families at its heart, the state-of-the-art tower includes two
dedicated floors for Women’s and Children’s Services. It brings advanced care, leading
specialists, and compassionate support together under one roof.

The project was shaped by feedback from families and the region’s continued growth. As a
leading provider of obstetrical services and home to the region’s only Level III Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit, Med Center Health is committed to ensuring women and newborns receive
advanced care close to home.

“Births in our region are projected to increase 18% over the next decade, and we want to be
ready,” said Kim Dethridge, Director of Women’s Services at Med Center Health. “High Street
Tower gives us additional space, greater flexibility, and dedicated areas for Women’s and
Children’s Services so we can continue delivering personalized, high-quality care as our region
grows.”

Why Families Choose Med Center Health

  • Kentucky’s fourth-largest obstetrics program, welcoming nearly 3,000 babies each year from across a 12-county region.
  • The region’s only Level III NICU, providing specialized care for premature, medically fragile, and critically ill newborns.
  • The region’s only Obstetric Emergency Department, staffed around the clock by an in-house, board-certified OB-GYN.
  • Comprehensive women’s and newborn services, including Labor and Delivery, Cesarean Birth, Postpartum Care, Antepartum/GYN Care, and Nursery Services.
  • High Street Tower also offers welcoming spaces designed to promote comfort, privacy, bonding, and family involvement. Lactation specialists meet with every mother during her hospital stay, with continued support available through Med Center Health’s outpatient Lactation Clinic.
  • As a donor Human Milk Bank and Depot, Med Center Health also helps provide donor breast milk to premature, medically fragile, and high-risk newborns when medically needed.

High Street Tower is more than a new building. It reflects Med Center Health’s century-long
commitment to meeting the changing needs of the communities we serve and providing exceptional care close to home.
