The Carrel K. Sumner Family Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Carrel K. Sumner and in recognition of his lifelong dedication to healthcare and education, his family has established the Carrel K. Sumner Family Memorial Scholarship.

Mr. Sumner devoted more than 38 years of his life to healthcare in Southcentral Kentucky through his service at Med Center Health. For this reason, MCH has matched the initial endowment gift with an additional $50,000 contribution. His legacy will continue to change lives and improve the health of our community for many generations to come.

The scholarship will support a full time or part time MCH employee/spouse or child of an MCH employee who demonstrates financial need while attending Western Kentucky University, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College or other accredited college in Southcentral Kentucky. Area of study and its appropriateness to healthcare will be considered.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to one student or divided between two students. Mr. Sumner’s legacy will continue to change lives and improve the health of our community for many generations to come through this annual scholarship.
