Community Champions

Community Champions a new annual giving society established in 2024, aimed at discovering and sharing the life-changing work being done at Med Center Health.  Comprised of households who annually provide gifts of $1,000 or more, Community Champions is an opportunity to learn more about the Foundation’s initiatives and innovations in healthcare taking place at Med Center Health.

Donations are accepted on a schedule that best suits the donor.  They can be provided in full annually, bi-annually, quarterly, monthly with recurring credit card payments or via payroll deduction for Med Center Health employees.  Donations are encouraged to remain unrestricted.  However, donors may designate their Community Champions annual gift to the initiative of their choice.

We had a very exciting kick-off for this initiative! 

Annual Summary:

April 25, 2024 – Our fist kick-off event held at the Western Kentucky Heart and Lung Atrium.  The topic for this event was “The Lung Nodule Program”.  Drs. Moore, Carter and Steff spoke about the advancement in detection with lung screenings and cutting-edge technology at The Medical Center.

August 13, 2004 – “Women’s and Children’s Services” Information was updated on the new Women’s Tower being built, the Pediatric Hospitalist Program, certification for a milk express site and its importance, along with an OBGYN and OB Residency Program update.  A panel discussion was held with Drs. Ben Banasiewicz, Neely, Nemec, Fissikoudi, Anania and Burns. 

November 14, 2024 – “Education and Simulation Lab” Ashley Hitson and her team updated attendees on education opportunities at The Medical Center. Guests met Aria, our newest birthing mother simulator and toured the Simulation Lab.  A very informative video was seen telling about the beginning of the simulation lab and its impact in our communities.

February 13, 2025 – “Advanced Cardiac Care” Drs. Kazimuddin, Hammad and Nelson gave an amazing detained explanation of the importance of cardiac care, resources and the technology advances of Med Center Health in our community. 

As a member of this prestigious group, you will have the opportunity to serve as an Ambassador for Med Center Health and promote better personal health, support economic development, and build a stronger, healthier community.  We ended 2024 with 34 members raising in donations and pledges close to $100,000.
