A LONG TRADITION OF QUALITY PATIENT CARE

The Medical Center at Scottsville’s roots date back to 1952 when the Allen County War Memorial Hospital served the residents of Scottsville, Kentucky and surrounding communities. In 1993, the hospital was assigned to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, and was renamed The Medical Center at Scottsville.

Three years later, the hospital completed a major expansion, opening a new 80,000 square-foot complex with 52 acute-care beds and 105 skilled-care beds. The addition of these facilities ensured that residents of Scottsville and Allen County had access to the latest in high quality service without the need to travel to other cities.

In  1998, the Scottsville Medical Plaza, located on the campus of The Medical Center at Scottsville, opened its doors. Today, it houses Primary Care Scottsville and other specialty clinics.

Today, residents of Allen county still rely on The Medical Center at Scottsville for the healthcare services they need to stay close to home, including diagnostic imaging services, physician specialty clinics and comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Patients of The Medical Center at Scottsville, KY also have access to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, a full service hospital featuring: Med Center Health Heart, Lung & Vascular Surgeons, Southcentral Kentucky’s only open heart surgery program; The Cancer Treatment Center for Southern Kentucky; Orthopaedics and Neuroscience; and a Family-Centered Birthing Center with Neonatology Services.

The Medical Center at Scottsville Earns ACR Accreditation

The Medical Center at Scottsville has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography (CT) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). CT scanning — sometimes called CAT scanning — is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and tailor treatments for various medical conditions.

ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging – representing the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report that can be used for continuous practice improvement.See More
