Cardiopulmonary Rehab

The Medical Center at Franklin Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation is a specialized program for individuals living with heart disease or chronic lung disease. Our rehabilitation and wellness teams can help you make changes in your diet, exercise and lifestyle habits, putting you in control of your health.

Cardiac Rehabilitation can help people with heart disease or a family history of heart disease or congestive heart failure. We can also help if you are recovering from a heart attack or if you’ve had open heart surgery, angioplasty or stent placement. Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program helps individuals with chronic lung disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, cystic fibrosis and emphysema. We can also help with post-COVID symptoms.

Our program is monitored by cardiac and pulmonary specialists. It combines exercise, education and support to help you return to an active lifestyle or meet the day-to-day challenges of living with chronic heart or lung disease. Our goals are to help increase your level of physical activity and function, decrease symptoms and complications, reduce future hospitalizations and increase your knowledge of how to effectively manage your disease.

How to Start

The Medical Center at Franklin offers free consultations to see if cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is right for you. We will discuss your medical condition, your goals and how the program can assist you.

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation requires a physician referral. We will help you get a referral from your healthcare provider. If you do not have a physician, we can help you find one.

Once you are referred to the program, a team member will contact you to schedule an initial interview and orientation session. We will work with you and your healthcare providers to develop a plan of care tailored uniquely to you.

The cost of the program varies and is based on individual needs. Many insurance companies, including Medicare, will pay for all or a portion of the costs associated with cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation.
