Patients who are uninsured or fail to provide us with adequate billing information including proper managed care authorization referrals are responsible for the payment of their bill.
What to expect if you are a self-pay at one of our hospitals:
If you do not have insurance, we automatically apply a Self Pay Discount to hospital charges, which reduces those charges by 30%. This discount will be honored unless your account becomes delinquent and is sent to a collection agency.
At registration, you will be asked for information to determine your eligibility for state or federal assistance programs.
About ten days after your visit, you will receive a notice of the charges incurred during your visit. This notice will request information about any medical insurance you may have. It will also provide some basic information about our payment plans and financial assistance policies.
About ten days after that, you will receive a statement showing the amount due after the Self-Pay Discount requesting that you pay or contact us within 10 days. If you contact us, we will discuss how our payment plans and financial assistance programs can help you pay your bill.
What to expect if you are a self-pay at one of our physicians or other facilities:
At registration, you will be asked to verify your contact information.
If you receive services from one of the CHC’s Bowling Green Neurosurgical Associates, Cardiac Surgery of South Central Kentucky, ENT Bowling Green, Med Center Health Neurology, Med Center Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, Medical Center Psychiatry, The Barren River Regional Cancer Center, The Medical Center Weight Loss Program or Vein Clinic you will receive the same Self-Pay Discount of 30% as you would receive at one of our hospital. Other physician visits are not eligible for this discount.

Quick Pay Discount:
Contact us if payment in full is an option for you, after you receive your first statement and prior to second statement, to inquire about a 10% discount option for your self pay balance with or without insurance.
