Each participant will be issued a race bib. A race number will be printed on the bib that will correspond to your participation. The bib will also contain an electronic chip timer. This will be built into the bib. Please check to see that all information is correct. If there is an error, please notify the 10K office. DO NOT lose your race bib! You must have it to pick up your T-shirt. It is also your ticket to the pasta party and race day breakfast.
Every participant has a tear-off tag at the bottom of their race number. It is each participant’s responsibility to ensure that the correct tear-off tag is placed in the drum after completing your event to be eligible for the Cash Prize Drawing.
Electronic Chip Timing
Each participant in a competitive event must pick up an electronic chip that will adhere to your race number. The electronic chip may be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, October 23, or at L.T. Smith Stadium near the Start Line on Saturday, October 24. Your chip is registered to your race number, so please do not trade or switch with someone else.
Chip Time vs. Gun Time
Overall awards are based on gun time. All other awards are based on chip time.
Finish Line Chutes
When you cross the finish line, do not stop. Because of the electronic chip timing, the need for chutes has been removed. Please continue to jog through the entire length of the finish line area and then deposit your entry into the Cash Prize Drawing.
