Marion Boyd Scholarship awarded

On September 22, the Marion Boyd Scholarship was awarded to Holly Barnes. Holly is currently a Unit Clerk on 4D Open Heart/Vascular at The Medical Center at Bowling Green and is a second year Radiography student at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC).

“After three and a half years as a unit clerk,” Holly says, “my goals are to graduate in May 2023 and start my career as a radiography tech, and eventually move up to CT and MRI.”

The Marion Boyd Scholarship was established following Marion’s untimely death earlier this year. Contributions to the scholarship fund have come from friends, family, colleagues, and a generous matching gift from Med Center Health. Additionally, funding is made possible through a raffle for employees to win a chance to park in Marion’s parking spot for 3 months!

Marion was a devoted employee of The Medical Center at Bowling Green for more than 57 years. This scholarship will be presented annually to a Radiography student at SKYCTC, and will continue to celebrate and honor Marion’s legacy and memory.

Employees can purchase raffle tickets for Marion’s parking spot at MCHealth.Foundation/Marion. 100% of money raised goes to the Marion Boyd Scholarship Fund. Enter for your chance to park right outside the Diagnostic Imaging door!
