A Day Just For Women brings women together for laughter and health

There were lots of reunions and smiles at A Day Just For Women, Med Center Health’s annual conference for women held September 22 at the Knicely Conference Center. There were 390 attendees and 30 vendors making the day special and fun.

In her two talks, “This Would Be Funny…If It Wasn’t Happening To Me” and “The Nerve to Serve, Say Hello to Humor & Goodbye to Burnout,” motivational speaker and stand-up comedienne Jody Urquhart had participants laughing and engaged as they learned to increase confidence and stay balanced no matter what life throws at them. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Katie Durnen, M.D., spoke to participants about cosmetic breast surgery options — why it is sometimes necessary and what to expect if you have it done.

The day-long conference also featured booths providing health information and screenings, and local businesses with products to sell, such as houseplants, jewelry, clothing and accessories.
