Good Samaritan – Pat Pearson

Congratulations to Pat Pearson, RN with Home Care, on receiving the Good Samaritan Award! Pat was nominated for her extraordinary compassion, generosity, and commitment for the community we serve.

I would like to nominate Pat Pearson, PRN RN with Home Care, for the Good Samaritan Award. Pat consistently exemplifies the spirit of compassion, generosity, and selflessness that this recognition represents. Pat goes above and beyond in the care she provides to her patients, particularly the veterans she serves. Each week, she takes breakfast to two of her regular VA patients, not out of obligation, but simply to brighten their day and offer a gesture of kindness that reminds them they are valued. Her desire to meet not just the clinical needs of her patients, but their emotional and human needs as well, sets her apart. Her compassion extends beyond routine visits. On Thanksgiving, Pat prepared and delivered a holiday plate to a veteran patient who had no family with whom to share the day. This simple, but deeply meaningful, act ensured that he did not spend the holiday alone. In addition to her remarkable acts of kindness, Pat has been an essential support to the Home Care team during a period of significant staffing shortages. She has willingly volunteered to pick up extra shifts, cover call, and step in wherever needed to ease the burden on her full-time colleagues. Her reliability, teamwork, and dedication have been invaluable to both staff and patients alike. Pat’s actions embody the true meaning of a Good Samaritan. She expects no recognition for her efforts, yet her compassion profoundly impacts those she serves. Her kindness, generosity, and servant-hearted approach to nursing make her an extraordinary asset to Med Center Health and a deeply deserving candidate for this award.” – Kasey Matthews
