BRRCC-Community

Barren River Regional Cancer Center believes in supporting our patients and celebrating their successes. And we take pride in being a part of the Glasgow/Barren County community. You will find Barren Regional Cancer Center participating in community events and hosting our own events for both our patients and the community at large.

Each year, the Center celebrates Independence Day with a 4th of July cookout. All current and previously treated patients of Dr. Tyree are invited to attend the free cookout hosted at the Center. Hundreds come out to enjoy good food and fellowship with Dr. Tyree and the entire Cancer Center staff as they pay tribute to our country’s history and to celebrate the lives of cancer patients.

The annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat gives the Center an opportunity to interact with the community in a fun environment. The event allows a safe place for community children to trick or treat.

In the fight against cancer, Barren River Regional Cancer Center supports the efforts of the American Cancer Society. Each year the Center participates in Relay for Life and as part of its fundraising efforts, hosts an annual Valentine’s Day Dance.

Over the years, the Cancer Center has participated in other community events including the annual Christmas Parade. In fact, for three straight years, the Center earned the Grand Marshall Award for its float entry.
