Research Foundation Symposium features nationally-renowned speakers
The Western Kentucky Heart & Lung Research Foundation Symposium took place Friday, April 22 and featured nationally-renowned presenters on advancements and innovations in healthcare practices. This year, the first-ever Shadowen Lecturer, cardiologist Dr. Martha Gulati, spoke on Women and Cardiac Disease. The Shadowen Lecturer, sponsored by the Med Center Health Foundation’s Dr. Rebecca Shadowen Education and Research Fund, features nationally-recognized women speakers who are experts in their fields. In addition, more than 50 posters were presented by members of the Graduate Medical Education program with first and second place awards given for each specialty – Cardiology, Critical Care/Pulmonology; Internal Medicine/Obstetrics and Surgery.
