Oh, Baby! What an Expectant Parent Fair!

The Medical Center’s annual Expectant Parent Fair was held on April 15 bringing together more than 400 people in attendance for this fun-filled event. Held at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex, the fair featured nearly 50 vendor booths which provided an extensive array of information, resources and hands-on educational opportunities including infant CPR, safe sleep practices and car seat safety.  And a favorite for attendees was the wealth of free giveaways and door prizes, including a year’s supply of diapers to one lucky winner.

The Mother Baby Unit had the opportunity to showcase their staff and the services they provide the community. Staff from Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, OB Education and Lactation Services shared information and answered questions from excited and anxious expectant parents. Many other Med Center Health departments as well as community organizations and businesses shared valuable information about their services.

Each year, the fair offers participants the opportunity to tour the Mother Baby Unit at the hospital, thanks to a shuttle provided by Barren River Adult Day Center. New this year was a “tour” of the High Street Tower where The Medical Center’s OB services will relocate once it opens this summer.  Renderings and floor plans provided participants a visual for the 4th and 5th floors of the tower, while staff highlighted new features of their future home.

Thank you to the OB Team and all Med Center Health staff who helped make the 2026 Expectant Parent Fair a success: Engineering, Environmental Services, Food Services, Security, Materials Distribution, Barren River Adult Day Center and Medical Center EMS.
