November Employee of the Month – Jordan Embry
Congratulations to Jordan Embry for being named Employee of the Month for November 2024. Jordan is a therapist with Outpatient Behavioral Service. Thank you for all that you do here!
“Jordan is one of the therapists at Outpatient Behavioral Health. For anyone who has not connected with Jordan, it is hard to explain the impact that he has on the community (more specifically Med Center Health.) He has the ability to connect on a deep level with people from all walks of life, different genders, various ages, etc. Even people who work in mental health make mention of how spectacular this trait is. People open up to him quickly and unexpectedly in a way that allows him to have very efficient impacts. What we specifically want to highlight are the many, many times that he has went above and beyond his normal work expectations to help those in crisis outside of his normal work hours. The first example that comes to mind was an inpatient on the medical floor when Jordan was staffed on the inpatient psych unit. The patient had very special needs and could not communicate in a normal way. As a result the patient would become very violent with staff. This patient had a longer than normal length of stay. Medical staff reached out for help and Jordan graciously came to the rescue. He voluntarily assisted with this patient (and was successful) even though it was holiday time and on a weekend and his birthday (and he didn’t work weekends). Other examples include time and time again when Jordan has been a resource for staff in crisis during his transition to the outpatient space. We have lost count of the number of times he has given up his lunch break to help one of ours in need because he had an already full schedule and they needed immediate help. In both example types, Jordan came into the situations after high emotion, road blocks, and crisis was instilling. Jordan jumped right in with our teams to support and guide us, ensuring our patients and employees received the help they needed. It takes a special individual to be willing in insert themselves into crisis, yet Jordan does, guiding us to better outcomes. Due to the privacy of his patients, we cannot share details, but please know he has been such an asset. There is not a doubt in our minds that he helps save lives- lives of people in the community we serve and lives within our corporation. Jordan does this without the desire for recognition. He will give and give to others, but is not keen to accept any recognition. But it is deserved. Jordan should know we recognize the sacrifices he makes to help others, and the impacts he has on human lives. We believe saying Jordan is fulfilling his life calling is an understatement. He is bettering the field of behavioral health and helping to strength our workplace at MCH. Thank you, Jordan! “- Nursing leadership
