Megan Sternberg Named First Employee of the Month Award Recipient
Megan Sternberg, DPT with The Medical Center at Bowling Green Outpatient Rehabilitation is the first recipient of the Med Center Health Employee of the Month award. In January 2024, Med Center Health enhanced its Employee Recognition Program and introduced the Employee of the Month award. This award recognizes employees for their outstanding work and commitment to safety, excellent outcomes and an unmatched patient experience.
Megan was presented with the Employee of the Month award for January 2024 on Friday, February 9 surrounded by her fellow rehab employees and representatives from leadership. Megan received two nominations that highlight Megan’s efforts to make a difference for our pediatric rehab patients.
“Megan serves as our primary outpatient pediatric physical therapist at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Megan has gone beyond providing just clinical excellence but creating an environment for the children and their families that is exceptional. First, she brought to reality our first “Rehab Fall Festival” in October for our patients and families that was held at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex and saw over 100 kids attend! She put together events and recruited Med Center Health staff and WKU PT students to assist with the event that meant so much to the families. She then followed up with a Christmas event where the children got some sweet treats and the ability to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause at the same venue site. These events were for children with special needs who often miss out on such events. We are so very thankful for her and her passion for these children.”
A second nomination said, “Megan goes above and beyond for her pediatric caseload. She organized and funded a fall festival event and a “photos with Santa” event for the pediatric patients that was inclusive and accommodating for patients and their families. Megan always strives to provide the best care and is always lending a helping hand to serve others. She is a wonderful physical therapist and we are blessed to have her on our team at Med Center Health.”
In addition to department and organization recognition, Megan received a reserved parking space for the month of February. At the end of 2023, she will be one of the twelve Employee of the Month award recipients to be considered for the annual Employee of the Year award.
