Med Center Health celebrates Summer Teen Ambassador Program

At the beginning of August, Med Center Health celebrated the end of another successful Teen Ambassador Program.

This year, The Medical Center at Bowling Green welcomed 30 new Teen Ambassadors. The 2025 program began June 17 and ended July 24. Teen Ambassadors helped out in a number of departments; including radiology, surgery, pharmacy, and more. These students represented five high schools in Southcentral Kentucky. In total, the students volunteered for more than 1,200 hours during the six week program.

In 2022, Med Center Health Volunteer Services introduced a new initiative: The Summer Teen Ambassador Program. This program is designed for high school students who have an interest in working in a hospital setting. This eight-week program introduced students to numerous areas of the hospital, ranging from nursing to the emergency department to human resources and accounting.

I have been so impressed with how driven the teens are about their future. They drove here to give of their summertime from Warren Co, Barren Co, Allen Co, Edmonson Co, and others to create a path of success for their future. I am so proud of the dedication of the teens this year, and many have continued to volunteer after the program ended. I look forward to welcoming them back to Med Center Health as volunteers and employees one day!” – Joe Thompson, Volunteer Services Manager
