March is Athletic Training Month

A big shout out to all our Athletic Trainers! March is Athletic Training Month, and this year the focus is that athletic training is essential to healthcare. We would like to remind everyone to follow some basic tips before leaping into sports this spring.

  • Before participating, see your physician for a physical exam
  • Always make sure there is an emergency plan in place
  • During exercise, drink to thirst or based on individual needs depending on sweat rate
  • Avoid tobacco, alcohol and other harmful drugs

As you gear up for sports, make sure you have access to an athletic trainer. These professionals specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illness. They can help make sure you stay in the game!
