March Employee of the Month – Blaine Whitmer
Congratulations to Blaine Whitmer for being named Employee of the Month for March 2026. Blaine works as an Equipment/Delivery Tech. Blaine was nominated for his outstanding commitment and contributions to Med Center Health’s mission, vision, and values.
“Blaine is truly the heart and face of MedEquip, and has been since its opening. For decades, he has consistently gone above and beyond for both patients and employees. Blaine is the person everyone calls when they need help. Nearly half of Bowling Green has his phone number, and no matter how busy he is, he will stop what he is doing to ensure a patient’s needs are met and that a coworker feels supported. Blaine provides far more than clinical expertise. He provides compassion, presence, and spiritual encouragement during some of life’s most difficult moments. He has never hesitated to pray with patients or employees who are facing challenging circumstances. His direct manager, Courtney, shared with me, ‘He prayed with me during a difficult time, and it meant more than I can put into words.’ His willingness to step into those moments and offer emotional and spiritual support truly sets him apart. He is also intentional about ensuring patients are cared for beyond standard eligibility requirements. When donated or spare equipment is available, Blaine works diligently to ensure patients who may not otherwise qualify still receive the equipment they need. He looks for solutions, instead of barriers. Just this week, I received a call from a patient whose pharmacy would not accept their insurance and was unsure how their nutritional needs would be met. After one phone call to Blaine, he immediately stepped in and handled the situation, ensuring the patient’s situation worked out. If there is a way to help, Blaine will find it. In addition, he takes the time to thoroughly educate patients about their equipment, so they feel confident, comfortable, and supported, especially during overwhelming circumstances. He works long hours to make sure every detail is handled correctly, every employee has the support they need, and every patient receives the highest level of care possible. If anyone in this organization truly deserves this recognition, it is Blaine. His impact on Med Center Health, our patients, and our community is immeasurable.” – Shaska Hines
