June Employee of the Month – Amy Bridgwater

Congratulations to Amy Bridgwater for being named Employee of the Month for June 2026. Amy is a Lead Patient Financial Coordinator for Med Center Health. Amy was nominated for her unyielding commitment to the patients of Med Center Health and for consistently living out Med Center Health’s mission.

“I would like to nominate Amy for Employee of the Month because of her outstanding dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our patients and to Med Center Health. As a member of the patient financial assistance team, Amy consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our patients are screened quickly and accurately for Medicaid eligibility or financial assistance. Her work has a direct impact on patient care and hospital operations by supporting timely discharge planning, reducing length of stay, helping prevent readmissions, and improving overall patient satisfaction. Amy is truly an invaluable partner to the Social Work Department; no matter how busy she is, she is always willing to answer questions, provide guidance, and assist with complex patient situations. Amy approaches every interaction with patience, kindness, and a genuine desire to help. Amy recently helped one of our social workers navigate the Medicaid process for a patient who has been inpatient for nearly 3 months and remains critically ill. The patient has a long road ahead of her and will need placement in a long-term acute care facility. Social Work has been stuck as the patient’s Medicaid lapsed while inpatient. Without Amy’s help, we would not be able to get this patient to the next level of care that she greatly needs. While Amy’s work is done behind the scenes, and often goes unnoticed by those outside of the process, its impact is felt throughout the hospital every day. While patients, providers, and staff may not see the countless hours she spends navigating applications, verifying eligibility, and advocating for financial resources, her efforts directly influence patient outcomes, discharge efficiency, and access to care. Amy’s dedication and commitment to serving others make an extraordinary difference for our patients and the organization as a whole.
