In Memoriam – Cathy Taylor

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Med Center Health employee Cathy Taylor, who passed away on July 8, 2026. Cathy worked at Med Center Health since 2011 in multiple roles and most recently served as a Senior Resident Care Partner in Long-Term Care at The Medical Center at Scottsville.

Please join us in extending our heartfelt sympathies to Cathy’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend and coworker, Cathy Taylor, who passed away on July 8, 2026. Cathy joined Med Center Health in 2011 and faithfully served as a Senior Resident Care Partner and Restorative Aide at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. During her years with us, she became so much more than a coworker—she became family. Anyone who knew Cathy knew she was unapologetically herself. She had a way of saying exactly what everyone else was thinking, often with a quick wit and a perfectly timed joke that could lighten even the most stressful day. When challenges arose, Cathy brought honesty, humor, and a refreshing authenticity that made people laugh, helped them put things into perspective, and reminded them they weren’t facing the day alone. She had a personality that filled the room and a sense of humor that could brighten even the hardest shifts. Beneath that bold personality was an incredibly compassionate heart. Cathy loved fiercely, was deeply loyal to her family, friends, coworkers, and residents, and cared for each resident as though they were her own loved one. She formed lasting relationships with those around her, and it is impossible to imagine our halls without her laughter, her candid spirit, and the genuine care she gave so freely. Our hearts are especially with Cathy’s husband and her daughter, Jess, who is also a cherished member of our Med Center Health family. The bond between Cathy and Jess was one of deep friendship and mother-daughter love, and we ask that they be kept in your thoughts as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Cathy was truly one of a kind, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion that will never be forgotten.” – Andrea Wooley and staff
