Graduate Nurse Residency and Student Nurse Extern Programs

Are you an upcoming December 2020 nursing graduate (or know someone who is)?  If so, you need to check out the Med Center Health Graduate Nurse Residency Program. This program educates and supports the graduate nurse in transition from classroom to the bedside during the first 6 months of their professional career. Through this structured program, Med Center Health provides the support and resources that graduate nurses need to make this transition successful.

Our nursing educators and unit preceptors will assist you in:

  • Orientation to the organization and culture of Med Center Health.
  • Improving bedside patient assessment and care skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Problem-solving patient conditions
  • Interdisciplinary communication skills
  • Simulation Labs

The New Graduate progresses through the program based on their individual needs and those of the nursing unit for which they are hired all in collaboration between the Clinical Manager, Preceptor and the New Graduate.
