Good Samaritan – Bethann Daugherty
Congratulations to Bethann Daugherty on receiving the Good Samaritan Award! Bethann was nominated for her compassion for the community we serve.
“I am honored to nominate Bethann, a dedicated and compassionate social worker who truly embodies the spirit of a Good Samaritan. Bethann consistently goes above and beyond for the individuals and families she serves, but one recent act of kindness stands out as a powerful example of her heart and commitment. When a family on her caseload was facing a difficult time and struggling to meet their basic needs, Bethann didn’t hesitate. Instead of simply making referrals or offering standard resources, she personally gathered and delivered food to ensure the family had what they needed. She took time out of her own day, without being asked, simply because it was the right thing to do. Her action brought immediate relief, comfort, and dignity to a family experiencing crisis. Bethann’s willingness to step in, her instinct to care, and her dedication to serving others exemplify the core values of our profession. She treats every individual with respect, empathy, and kindness, and her actions consistently demonstrate the difference one person can make when they choose compassion. Bethann is not only an outstanding social worker; she is a true Good Samaritan. I wholeheartedly recommend her for this honor.” – Kayla Barnett
“Bethann is probably one of the kindest people I have ever met,. An example of that is her providing two large bags of food for a patients mother yesterday. I have a gentleman on my unit who has brain cancer, and has suffered a major stroke. His mother has not left his side. This patient’s mother is in a wheel chair herself, and on a very fixed income. Bethann went shopping this weekend to got her things she can eat at the hospital, and Bethann brought them to her yesterday. Bethann is PRN with us and is always willing to cover when folks are out or come in and float when our case load is extra heavy. She is just a great human.” – Anna Mae Parrish
