Cave City Chamber of Commerce Names The Medical Center at Caverna January Member of the Month
The members of the Cave City Chamber of Commerce voted and proudly selected The Medical Center at Caverna as January Member of the Month.
The Medical Center at Caverna is located at 1501 S. Dixie Hwy, Horse Cave. Originally known as Caverna Memorial Hospital, they began serving Hart and surrounding counties in 1967. Their team of 100 employees is led by Vice President & Administrator Alan Alexander who began leading the facility in 1999. Under his leadership, expansions of the hospital were completed in 1999, 2009 & 2014 as new land and buildings were added. Caverna became part of Med Center Health in 2016 and adopted the current name.
The Medical Center at Caverna is a 25 bed hospital that provides our area with a large array of services. In addition to in-patient care and a 24-7 emergency room, they offer services in specialties such as cancer care, general surgery, orthopedics, hematology, diagnostic imaging which includes X-ray, CT scan, MRI and mammography, and much more. Patients can also receive care from specialized clinics in cardiology, obstetrics & gynecology, pulmonology, and respiratory care to name a few.
The Medical Center at Caverna also offers telemedicine, a service that has become vital to patients during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of the health crisis, The Medical Center at Caverna has administered more than 1,000 Covid-19 tests and they currently have several Covid in-patients. The facility has had to re-think and re-vamp every aspect of operations due to Covid, but the continued dedication to providing patients the highest quality of care has never wavered.
In addition to on-site care options, The Medical Center at Caverna offers services off-site as well. The Caverna Primary Care Clinic and Munfordville Primary Care Clinic are rural health clinics offering premium care for walk-in patients. Senior Perspectives addresses the uniquely challenging issues affecting seniors by offering out-patient mental health services. Trained professionals offer group, individual, and family therapy, medication management, and other services designed to help seniors cope with depression, anxiety, grief, isolation, loneliness, and many other aspects of life.
