BEE Award – Lauren Gott
Congratulations to Lauren Gott on being given the BEE Award! Lauren is a nurse at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Thank you so much to Lauren for all of her hard work and for the excellent care given to her patients. The following is Lauren’s nomination from a coworker:
“I had a patient who had not eaten well in days, after finding out he had stage IV lung cancer. Lauren and I tried to get him to eat breakfast and lunch, unsuccessfully. After much consideration, the patient and his family decided to go comfort measures during our shift together. At dinner time, Lauren asked the patient if anything sounded good to eat after he declined to have his tray. The patient said a grilled cheese sounded good to him. After calling the kitchen and finding out they had no one working that could make it for him, Lauren got on her phone and paid with her own money to have a grilled cheese delivered for the patient. I truly believe this made the patient the happiest he had been his whole hospital stay. Lauren truly went above and beyond to make this patient as happy and comfortable as possible.
