2023-2024 Scholarship Recipients

Med Center Health is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 academic school year recipients for the following scholarships:

HELEN DINNING SCHOLARSHIP

The Helen Dinning Scholarship Endowment was established by Med Center Health, the parent company of The Medical Center at Franklin, to honor Helen Dinning for her generous support of the Franklin hospital. The Dinning Scholarship is for graduates of Franklin-Simpson High School who are full-time sophomores, juniors or seniors at Western Kentucky University and who are currently enrolled in a health-related degree program. The scholarship is for the Fall 2023–Spring 2024 academic year and includes $4,300 per year, payable over two semesters.

FLOYD ELLIS SCHOLARSHIP

The Floyd Hays Ellis Scholarship Fund is established with the College Heights Foundation through a gift made by Med Center Health. The Ellis Scholarship is for full-time students at Western Kentucky University who are dependent children of WRECC employees. This scholarship is for the Fall 2023–Spring 2024 academic year and includes the cost equivalent to in-state tuition and an allowance for books. The scholarship this year is divided between two recipients.

HERBERT A. OLDHAM SCHOLARSHIP

The Herbert A. Oldham Scholarship Fund is established with the College Heights Foundation through a gift made by Med Center Health. The Oldham Scholarship is for students of Western Kentucky University who are members of underrepresented populations and who are graduates of high schools in Warren County. The scholarship is for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 academic year and includes the cost equivalent to in-state tuition and allowance for books. The scholarship this year is divided between two recipients.

Charles M. Stewart Scholarship

The Charles M. Stewart Scholarship Fund is established with the College Heights Foundation through a gift made by Med Center Health. The Stewart Scholarship is for students at Western Kentucky University who are dependent children of Med Center Health employees. The scholarship is for the Fall 2023–Spring 2024 academic year and includes $4,300 per year, payable over two semesters.

CARRELL K. SUMNER SCHOLARSHIP

The Carrel K. Sumner Family Memorial Scholarship fund is established with the Med Center Health Foundation through a gift made by Clara Sumner and Med Center Health. The Sumner Scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students at Western Kentucky University, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, or other accredited college in Bowling Green, who are employed by Med Center Health or are dependent children of Med Center Health employees. The scholarship is for the Fall 2023–Spring 2024 academic year. It includes $5,000 per year, payable over two semesters.

THE MEDICAL CENTER AT SCOTTSVILLE SCHOLARSHIP

The Medical Center at Scottsville Scholarship was established through a gift made by The Medical Center at Scottsville. The Medical Center at Scottsville Scholarship is for beginning freshmen at Western Kentucky University who are graduates of Allen County-Scottsville High School. The scholarship is for the Fall 2023–Spring 2024 academic year, and will be the amount equivalent to in-state tuition and an allowance for books. The scholarship this year is divided between two recipients.
