The Medical Center at Franklin Recognition Awards

Nurse of the Year: Amy Bratton (Outpatient Chemo/UR)

Amy goes above and beyond every day for her patients, showing true concern for their well-being. She takes time to talk with patients despite the busy day. She is always very willing to help other nursing staff as well. Since Amy returned to Franklin, she has done an amazing job with utilization management, and she is very knowledgeable about insurance authorization processes. Amy works well with physicians and members of all disciplines to help provide a holistic look at each patient receiving care at The Medical Center at Franklin. Amy does not mind taking on new tasks and functions in many capacities within the facility and does a wonderful job.

Nurse of the Year Runner-Up: Karen Randolph (Acute Care)

Karen is a great nurse with a humble and serious concern for her patients, her co-workers and for visitors as well. Karen is always willing to help her co-workers for the good of the patients. Karen has devoted most of her life to nursing. She possesses many years of experience and nursing knowledge as well as love and compassion for her patients. She is thorough and methodical when caring for her patients. No matter how stressful or hectic the day, she always takes her time for the patients who need her. Karen never cuts corners and ensures that optimal care is provided for the patients she cares for. She can be counted on to work when scheduled and works with co-workers to accommodate their time off as well.  Karen is an excellent preceptor, always patient when demonstrating the correct way things should be done. 

Clinical Support Employee of the Year: Doris Fuller (Acute Care)

Doris shows an extreme concern for her patients and co-workers. She is always smiling and never hesitates to give a helping hand to whoever needs it, even when she is more than busy with her own workload. She goes out of her way to assist her co-workers and to make sure her patients are appropriately cared for. Doris is always cheerful and pleasant to work with, often making jokes in hopes of helping someone laugh. She always asks her patients if she can do anything else for them before she leaves the room. Many patients tell other staff members that Doris does a wonderful job taking care of them and they look forward to having her care for them. Doris is always willing to work extra and is very flexible with her schedule. Doris is a great asset to acute care and the hospital.

Ancillary Employee of the Year: Chelsea Watson (PT)

Chelsea has been with our MCF Rehab Department for 4 years now. Her hard work and dedication have been recognized by our Rehab Management team and she has recently been named Rehab Coordinator.  Chelsea has worked hard to promote not only the rehab profession, but care at The Medical Center at Franklin to medical providers and to members of the community. Chelsea regularly keeps up with potential referral sources providing a perspective of appropriate patients and works with our Nursing and Rehab staffs to meet individual patient needs and find most appropriate placement or safe transition to their home. She helps to keep Rehab team working as efficiently as possible amidst difficult times over the past year. In regards to professional growth and development, Chelsea has improved her skill set with certification in Lymphedema and Wound Management. She has utilized her knowledge to provide a needed service in the Franklin community. As for patient care, Chelsea stays involved with the needs of each patient treating them as an individual who was a member of her family. She remains positive and encouraging and looks to keep care on a level addressing specific needs of an individual. 

Ancillary Employee of the Year Runner-Up: Stephani Watts (RT)

Stephani is a go-getter and helpful to all. She is also a goal-setter and has worked hard to receive her Associate’s degree in Applied Science for Respiratory Therapy this year. She accommodates staff with schedule changes and picks up extra or switches shifts whenever needed.
