New Pediatric Hospitalist Program Launches
Med Center Health and Kentucky Children’s Hospital, a part of UK HealthCare, are pleased to announce a new Pediatric Hospitalist Program at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Pediatric hospitalists care for children hospitalized for acute illness by managing their hospital stay, consulting and coordinating with specialists as needed, and keeping the child’s pediatrician or family medicine provider updated on their progress. Once discharged from the hospital, the child returns to the care of their provider. For parents, this means an added level of assurance that their child is receiving the very best care.
Meet Nicole Anania, D.O., M.S.
Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine, Nicole Anania, D.O., M.S. serves as Medical Director of The Medical Center’s Pediatric Hospitalist Program.
“Pediatric patients and their families deserve high quality medical care within their own community,” said Dr. Anania. She brings 15 years of pediatric hospitalist experience to Bowling Green to provide expert care for children.
Dr. Anania earned her medical degree at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at Maricopa Medical Center and in Pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, both of which are located in Phoenix, Ariz.
Dr. Anania’s medical interests lie in children with medical complexities, quality improvement and patient safety. She holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. and a Certificate in the Chief Medical Officer Program from the Emory Executive Education program at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
She is the mother of two sons currently in college and loves spending time with family. With a marathon under her belt, she continues to run for her health and exercise in her free time. She is a dog-lover and enjoys nature and reading.
