National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. BHS, our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) partner, has made its recent webinar, Suicide Prevention: Let’s Talk About It, available to us on-demand. In this webinar, you will:

  • Learn the myths and facts about suicide
  • Understand the warning signs when someone is at risk
  • Gain tips for creating and keeping lines of communication open
  • Identify resources to support you and those you care about

BHS has compiled helpful suicide prevention resources in the MyBHS Portal. To access these resources, visit portal.BHSonline.com, enter the username: MedCenter and click on National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Below you will find links helpful tip sheets that you can print out or share with others.

As a reminder, the EAP program is available to you and your household and provides the below benefits:

  • Master’s level clinician for in-the-moment support and guidance when you need someone to talk to
  • Short-term counseling support, up to six free sessions per concern, per year
  • Consult with a legal or financial expert
  • Childcare or eldercare referrals
  • Browse lifestyle management resources
  • Participate in a training or the monthly webinar series
