KY ACHE Educational Event a Success, Eaton Recognized for Service

Bridging Collaboration and Successful Opioid Solutions, an educational event hosted by the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (KY ACHE), was held on November 13 at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex. A panel moderated by Eric Hagan, FACHE, Vice President of Rural Hospitals for Med Center Health, discussed the opioid crisis and challenges facing healthcare providers and communities across the Commonwealth. Panelists, who shared their invaluable insights from their varied professional perspectives, included the following:

  • Melinda Joyce, PharmD, FAPhA, FACHE – Executive Director, Western Kentucky Heart & Lung Research Foundation
  • William Moss, M.D. – Vice President & Chief Medical Officer with Med Center Health
  • Stephen Parrott – Emergency Medical Services Field Supervisor with Med Center Health and Level II Instructor, Bowling Green Independent School District
  • Eric Sexton – Executive Director, Barren River Area Development District

Following the panel discussion, Julie Eaton, FACHE, Vice President of Operations for Med Center Health, received the national ACHE Service Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. The award recognizes her commitment to the healthcare management profession through the performance of activities and services that further professional excellence. The behind-the-scenes organization of this particular educational and networking event is just one example of her service to the KY ACHE.
