In Memoriam – Faye White

It is with regret that we inform you Faye White passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024.  Faye worked most recently as an Employee Health RN at The Medical Center at Bowling Green since 2020 – after retiring earlier that year as a Clinical Manager after 42 years with Med Center Health. Please join us in extending sympathies to Faye’s friends, family and colleagues.

Below are a few quotes from some of Faye’s many friends at Med Center Health:

“I started by Med Center Health and health care career working for Faye in 2004.  She instilled Med Center Health values from the start … Quality and People.  She held us to the highest standards, and she poured into people.  Many of Med Center Health’s leaders worked directly under Faye at some point in their career.  She had energy and passion that anyone should strive to emulate!” Katrina Wood, EVP, CNO

Faye did not just manage her team, she inspired them with her leadership qualities. Her actions and words were always geared towards lifting others up and encouraging them to grow and succeed. Through mentorship and lending a empathetic ear she created a work environment where everyone felt valued and supported. 3D will forever be thankful for her guidance.” – Lauren Buckland, Clinical Manager, 3D (Ortho/Neuro)

“I cannot count how many baby nurses she took under her wings and turned them into leaders and role models.  She wanted us to be the best that we could be.  She would correct us when we did wrong, and she stood up for us when needed. I am forever grateful for the years I worked under her. I wouldn’t be the nurse I am today without her guidance.  She will be missed.” Amy White, Home Health Nurse

Those of us who knew and worked with Faye were guided and molded into who we are today because of her. I certainly will never forget the significant role she played in my life as I transitioned from a green nursing student to the nurse I am today 20 years later.” – Teresa Bertrand, Staff Nurse, 3D (Ortho/Neuro)

“Faye- You desired and expected excellence, and you always acknowledged it, too. While it was embarrassing at times, it was endearing, as well. I still smile thinking of the times you gathered everyone around, rang that bell, read our compliments aloud, and then handed out bags of candy for jobs well done. Thank you for that! I’m going to continue to give it my all.” – Joanie Newton, Staff Nurse, 3D (Ortho/Neuro)

“Faye started my nursing career 16 years ago with Med Center Health and never stopped coaching and teaching me up until she was taken from her earthly home.  Faye taught me to work hard and good things will come your way.  Attention to detail and the small things matter were instilled in me by Faye.  I will forever be thankful for what Faye poured in to me and try my best to make her proud.”  Tracy Metzger, Clinical Manager, ICU, NeuroICU

“When Lauren first started calling you ‘Momma Faye’ you immediately responded with ‘I am not your Momma.’ However, you were a Mother to many. You raised many of us to your standards and held us accountable. You were my manager, my friend and my family. I can never thank you enough for your dedication to your work and work children.” – Beth Crawley, Charge Nurse, 3D (Ortho/Neuro)
