Help Us Educate the Community on Stroke
May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and it is more important than ever to get the word out about stroke symptoms, prevention and treatment. It is vital that people learn and recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke as well as understand the importance of seeking immediate medical care by calling 911. Just as important, people need to understand their risk factors for stroke and make sure they are seeking treatment for health concerns such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and atrial fibrillation.
We need your help.
Med Center Health is reaching out to the communities we serve in a variety of ways, through Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and our Med Center Health website. Please follow us on these social platforms and share our posts related to stroke with your family and friends to see.
If you are a member of a church or community organization that would benefit from a Stroke Awareness presentation by one of our Med Center Health professionals, please contact Sarah Widener, Director of Community Wellness, at 270-745-1541 or WideSE@mchealth.net. Community Wellness can also provide in-person stroke risk assessments to churches and organizations.
Attached are informational flyers that can be submitted to your church bulletin or community organization newsletter.
