Good Samaritan – Kim Thompson
Congratulations to Kim Thompson, Occupational Therapist at The Medical Center at Franklin, on receiving the Good Samaritan Award! Kim was nominated for embodying Med Center Health’s mission to care for people and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.
“Kim goes above and beyond to make sure patients’ needs are met in the hospital but also prepares the way to meet their needs at home, as well. Recently, there was a patient in the hospital who had an extremely long stay at The Medical Center at Bowling Green and then at The Medical Center at Franklin. The patient wanted to go home desperately but was requiring orthopedic braces that weren’t feasible for him to apply and remove without assistance, and he did not have anyone at home to assist him. Kim brought her sewing machine to work and added Velcro and other fasteners to the braces so the patient could manage the braces independently and be able to go home sooner.“ – Sonya Hood
