Congratulations to Jessica Evans Shell, Occupational Therapy Assistant at The Medical Center at Franklin, on receiving the Good Samaritan Award. Jessica was nominated for going the extra mile to care for her patients.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Jessica for 2 years. In that span of time, I’ve watched her impact and better the lives of those she interacts with on a daily basis. Recently, we were both assisting with discharge preparation and equipment needs when we noticed that the patient was unable to pay for equipment his insurance would not cover. Without telling the patient, Jessica immediately felt compelled to cover the financial burden to assist with a safe discharge. She didn’t have to, but she did. In addition, she researched various equipment options for the patient within his budget and ensured the equipment would be available in time for discharge. The level of care that she provides her patients surpasses that of those around her. It is a privilege to learn from and work alongside her!” – Gabriele Pare
