Employee of the Month – Kyra Morris
Congratulations to Kyra Morris on being named as an Employee of the Month. Kyra is an ultrasonographer for The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Thank you so much for your hard work, Kyra! Your hard work is making Med Center Health a better and safer place for our community! The following is Kyra’s nomination from a coworker.
“Kyra Morris is always an outstanding coworker and friend but January has been a month of exemplary compassion, inclusion, understanding, and respect for her. With the new rotation of residents that we have seen ultrasound orders from this January, Kyra is always the first one to call and clarify orders with the residents without complaining. She communicates to them in a respectful manner that does not question them but allows for mutual understanding between doctor and radiology. Kyra has also really stepped up this month during the recent snow and ice storms. Amongst days where several other coworkers needed to call in due to weather or due to lack of childcare services, Kyra never missed a day and even messaged each person individually to check on their wellbeing and safety. As someone without a child, she showed compassion in offering to stay late and work extra so others could remain safe or get home early before the next storm hit. Kyra’s kindness and compassion is inclusive to everyone, not just coworkers, but patients as well. On days that transport was backed up or understaffed Kyra helped by transporting patients in wheelchairs back to their rooms herself to relieve the stress on others and provide the best patient care that she could. Not to mention that Kyra has been able to pick up a night shift this month to allow our night tech to be able to take her vacation day and take the stress off of the person on call that night. Switching from day shift to night shift is never easy on the body but Kyra sacrificed her night off to work knowing that she had the next 3 days off and had more time to recover than others. I could not think of a more selfless person deserving of recognition.” – Isabell Laughlin
