August Employee of the Month – Dr. Noma Moyo-Peters
Congratulations to Dr. Noma Moyo-Peters for being named Employee of the Month for August 2024. Dr. Moyo-Peters practices Family Medicine at Med Center Health Primary Care Bowling Green. Thank you for all that you do here!
“Dr. Moyo-Peters was the blessing I needed when I came into her office to address some anxiety I was having, due to a multitude of situations in my life. I am a single mom of three (and an employee here, at MCBG) who moved here, away from all of my family and friends last year. My (6y/o) daughter has a rare genetic disease, and we had been in and out of Vanderbilt Children’s a lot, recently. This, in turn, caused me to develop some anxiety that had gotten out of control. I had never met Dr. Peters, as she had taken over for my original PCP that left. I was nervous to meet a new doctor, and to have this specific conversation with a doctor I had never met. Sweet Dr. Peters came in and was so gentle and loving from the start. She sat with me for upwards to an hour, while I talked to her about all of my struggles, home life, etc. She actively listened, and I could tell she very genuinely cared. She encouraged me, and told me how strong of a mother I was. She wanted to make sure that I knew how the single-mother homelife, etc, wasnt going to limit my children, but was actually going to make them such good human beings and so strong. I had never had a doctor treat me the way she did, or take the time to really hear and want to understand why I was there. Coming from a single mom with no real support system, it was such a blessing to have that time with her. I don’t think she understands how very much I needed her, in that moment, and I am forever grateful. She made such a difference in my life in just an hour, and I know she will continue to do the same in other patients lives, and I hope you guys will give her the recognition she deserves.
