Woodward appointed to COVID-19 Memorial Advisory Panel
Jacque Woodward, Administrator of Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care, has been selected by the Kentucky Office of the Governor to serve on the Team Kentucky COVID-19 Memorial Community Advisory Panel. The panel consists of 22 members who will provide input on concept proposals for a permanent memorial to commemorate the losses and sacrifices Kentuckians experienced during the pandemic. Jacque tragically lost her own husband, Gary, who was an RN for over 25 years, to COVID-19 in November last year.
“I feel blessed to be selected by Governor Beshear to serve on the advisory panel,” Jacque said, “and grateful our Commonwealth recognizes the importance of creating a permanent memorial to honor and remember those who passed away due to COVID-19. My goal is to serve in a capacity that represents all the families who were impacted by this deadly virus.”
The panel was established by an Executive Order of Governor Andy Beshear and will be dissolved upon completion of the project. The memorial will be placed at the State Capitol Monument Park to serve as a reminder to future generations of this difficult time and to offer respect and some level of comfort to families and communities who are grieving.
A fund has been established to design, build and maintain the memorial, which has a target date of completion of March 6, 2022. Learn more at Team Kentucky COVID-19 Memorial Fund.
