Women in the Arts Exhibit showcases female artists

The 30th Exhibit of Women in the Arts is now underway at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex and open to the public Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This year’s exhibit showcases the works of 66 local female artists entering 124 pieces of work. Juror for the exhibit was Nashville artist Karen Philpott.
Cindy S. Lawrence received the Special Purchase Award for her painting, “Dancing Free,” which will be displayed at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The ArtWorks Award went to Abigail V. Coffell for “Into the Heavens.” In addition to the two primary awards, there were eight Merit Awards and five Honorable Mentions.
