Witness to Wellness Award – Kyra Morris

Congratulations to Kyra Morris! Kyra is the October Witness to Wellness Award recipient in the Get Fit Club. Kyra’s inspiration for a lifestyle change was because she was unhappy with her weight and the way she felt. She began having great results with Weight Watchers. She then added her exercise routine 3-4 times a week. She states, “I was back on track for getting healthier.” Kyra said that she had fallen into the routine of eating unhealthy and over eating, and it was affecting her health and wellbeing. Kyra met her weight goals and states that she is now mindful of a healthy diet and feeling better overall. “If I try eating some of the foods that I used to eat, then I feel physically bad and that makes me stay away from those habits.” She is back to running and says, “The weight loss has made it so much easier to run and do the physical activities that I enjoy.”
Kyra states that her fellow colleagues have supported her through her journey. My coworkers quickly noticed when I started shedding pounds and several of them decided to jump on the Weight Watcher’s bandwagon with me. Kyra’s suggestion for adopting a healthier lifestyle is finding a program that is going to teach you life-long healthy habits and make it something you will be able to stick to long term.
The Witness to Wellness program recognizes employees who are dedicated to living a health lifestyle. Kyra works for the Medical Center at Bowling Green as an Ultrasonographer in the Ultrasound Department. She was nominated because she changed her lifestyle to include “eating healthier and maintain her weight goal.”
