The Medical Center at Bowling Green reaches 20,000 vaccinations milestone
Med Center Health is playing an integral role in vaccinating the citizens of Kentucky against COVID-19. Since the arrival of the first shipment of vaccine on December 14, Med Center Health has administered more than 20,000 doses just on the Bowling Green campus and over 21, 000 at all locations. The targeted groups for vaccination include healthcare workers, first responders, K-12 school personnel, and those aged 70 and older. Med Center Health was also responsible for vaccinating the residents and staff at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. “Surpassing 20,000 doses administered at one site is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Melinda Joyce, Vice President – Corporate Support Services. “It takes a dedicated team to make the process as smooth as possible for the patient, because it is so much more involved than just the shot in the arm. To see the happiness of patients, behind their masks, as they get the vaccine is so gratifying.”
