The Medical Center at Albany Sponsors Pickleball Court

On Thursday, September 12 a ribbon cutting was held for the new pickleball court at Mountain View Recreational Park in Albany. The Medical Center at Albany is proud to be a sponsor for the construction of the court. Laura Belcher, Med Center Health Vice President and Administrator of The Medical Center at Albany, and Amy Claborn, Director of Patient Care Services, attended the ribbon cutting. Amy even joined in the fun as she and others broke in the new court.

What started as a young man’s idea for a community service project turned into a new option for physical activity in Albany. As part of his dual credit English class, Clinton County High School student Nick Poore identified a need for a community pickleball court. As the sport gains popularity in Clinton County, the only pickleball court options are at a few local churches, but nothing open to the general public. Part of Med Center Health’s mission is to improve quality of life in the communities it serves, and encouraging physical activity positively impacts both physical and mental health. The new pickleball court is a welcome addition to the activities at Mountain View Recreational Park.
