Staff from Norton Children’s Hospital visit MCBG to help us prepare for Pediatric Readiness

On Thursday, Nov. 10, a team from Norton Children’s Hospital visited The Medical Center at Bowling Green’s Emergency Department and ran through simulations with our staff to help them be better prepared for a mass influx of pediatric patients.

Donna Callahan, and her team from Norton Children’s Hospital, were on campus from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. working on pediatric simulations with Emergency Department doctors, nurses, pharmacists, techs, EMS, and more.

Then from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., the Norton Children’s Hospital staff set up in the auditorium to have a mass casualty tabletop discussion with staff in dietary, security, registration, social work, and more.

Thank you so much to Donna and her staff for visiting our hospital and helping us become a safer place for children to visit.
