September Employee of the Month – Robin Hazard
Congratulations to Robin Hazard for being named Employee of the Month for September 2024. Robin is a clinical nurse in the emergency department at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Thank you for all that you do here!
“Robin always goes above and beyond. She fills numerous roles in our department. She is a leader and a great resource as a Charge Nurse and a patient advocate as a staff nurse. She has also recently became a SANE-A nurse and takes call for that position. She continues to come up with new ideas regarding quality care and safety.
When we were going over processes with Team Health for through put issues, she would always give ideas to the committee about what would or wouldn’t work for the staff nurse in their daily work. She was a traveling nurse for a while, during Covid, and obtained knowledge of what worked at other places and what did not work. She in turn would share with us, and we could use that. She has worked with Melissa Gilpin, the ER Educator, to improve our SANE program. She will speak to Melissa about cases when she has any questions or concerns. The concerns may be related to the provider or law enforcement or other issues, but Robin addresses the issues and helps find resolutions. We are currently working on Trauma Certification and working through a process of role assignments, for example: what staff is most appropriate in the trauma rooms. She worked with staff on the Unit Based Council to start this process. She has since helped us implement role assignments. This ensures that the right nurse is in the right area to take best care of the trauma patient. This helps with patient safety and quality. She is one of our preceptors. I know when she precepts the new nurse is getting accurate information and is trained appropriately, which in turn assures better patient care and safety.” – Alicia Hume
