SANE Training offered by Med Center Health
Med Center Health now offers training for RNs in our community interested in becoming a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner of Adults and Adolescents (SANE A/A). A SANE is a registered nurse who has completed advanced education and training in the forensic examination of victims of sexual assault. A SANE completes a Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Exam (SAFE) collects and preserves evidence, participates in a multidisciplinary team to ensure all of the victims needs are met, and testifies in legal proceedings. SANEs are credentialed by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
There is no cost for Med Center Health employees. Register in symplr Learning (formerly NetLearning) to ensure adequacy of space and materials. Registration must be received in the department at least 48 hours in advance of the program. Late registrations will be accepted if space is available. Employees can confirm registrations in symplr Learning by checking “My Scheduled Classes.”
Non-employees can register online at MedCenterHealth.org/SANE. The number of registrants is limited.
